Having rapidly grown over the course of the past year, Today’s Pigskin is looking to expand its stable of writers. So whether you’re an experienced print journalist looking to make some extra money or somebody who has been toiling away on a blog who is looking to finally earn a paycheck for their work, we’d love to hear from you.
We are looking to add writers who are self-motivated, able to generate story ideas and have the ability to write feature stories more than 500 words in length (preferably 600-800 words). The ability to write quality stories (situational feature or column) without quotes is also needed [please include at least one example in your samples]. We are not looking for game previews or recaps at this time.
What we are looking for is someone who can conceptualize unique story angles that cater to an intelligent, engaged audience. Currently, we’re looking for writers with experience in the following fields:

- X’s and O’s Columnist - We’re always seeking to provide our readers with a deeper understanding of what they’re seeing on Sunday, and one of the best ways to do that is by explaining what’s going on strategically. So if you’ve got a background as a coach or player or if you’ve spent a lot of time breaking down film and you have an understanding of advanced strategy, we’d love to hear from you.
- AFC East Columnist - The New England Patriots dominate this conference, but there are plenty of storylines to go around from each team. An avid watcher and reader of all things AFC East is a must with a creative mind to attack angles that aren’t as heavily reported on.
- AFC South Columnist - Hopefully, you’re a better writer than the AFC South is at football. Must have expert level knowledge of the rosters and happenings throughout the division.
- NFC West Columnist -Â The NFC West is covered pretty thoroughly throughout the media; therefore, it is paramount that you can be laser focused on creative storylines and angles.
